How can it be that every idea put forth be the Republicans is dismissed by the Democrats and every idea put forth by the Democrats is dismissed by the Republicans? Imagine the statistical probability of all 100 Senators going to a movie and all Democrats hate it and all Republicans like it. Now apply that to a simple idea like the Dream Act or any other recent suggestion by either party. Wouldn't you imagine that at least one Republican would like it, or that one Democrat wouldn't? These people are not looking out for the you and me or for the country. They have their own agenda. Their agenda is to get reelected, get or keep power, remove any power from the other side, and seek revenge for previous slights. Calls to "get rid of them all" serve no purpose since the "new guys" will quickly become as bad as the ones we get rid of. So what is the solution? Here is the really bad news; there is none. Since the founding of our Republic, the various factions have never worked together in a consistent manner. There have been times that they have agreed, but those were scarce.
